So now the evenings are starting to get chilly I am looking for something to keep the old pins warm whilst riding with the owls

Can anyone recommend some toasty breeches (I don't like jods!) that won't break the bank??

The Ariat winter ones are warm but.....and you won't like this lol, Musto Snug Jods are warmer

In their defence though, the Musto jods don't have horrible turnups like normal jods. They are more of a ski pants thing (that sounds even worse PMSL) So pull on style with a stirrup foot.

I am very much a breeches person too lol. So funny how people are divided!

Try googling three lows equestrian - they do Kerritts Sit tight n wam breeches. Have tried Musto Snugs and these beat them hands down. Had them last winter during that really cold spell and I hardly ever needed my chaps to keep warm enough. Hard wearing and they dry really quickly as well if you do get wet.

I have a pair of Musto Ultimate Snug jods, they are really breeches as not bulky around the ankle at all and I wear long boots fine with them. They are windproof and waterproof. Absolutely amazing, I've been out in monsoon rains and still been toasty warm and dry under these jods.

I have some fab Mountain horse ones, they are made outta the same material sort shell jackets are made out of. But they have a full seat, and arent bulty at all!!!

also for the musto snug jods but oh my god they are NOT flattering! I kid myself that you can't see much with a big fleece etc but it is not a look I would choose...! I have also now started to wear thermals under them as our yard is freezing and that does the trick. I did vow never to wear them but .... late and cold nights.....
