Am looking for a new exercise sheet - have a paddock blanket that I used to use but it moves under the saddle as only has loops to put the girth through and its quite thick.

What are the best ones that are light (i.e thin enough to go under saddle and not be bulky) and have straps to keep it in place completely during exercise (steep hills etc)?

We have 2 but the aeroborn "Be Seen" is the best. It can go around under the saddle flaps to you can canter without it flying off. But it can also wrap around over the riders legs to keep you warm in the collecting ring. Its wool so it sheds water like a newmarket and has high Viz strips woven in so you can be seen in the lorry park or in the collecting ring in the dark.

It isn't a full floursecnt for hacking in the dark - we have one of those too. But for keeping warm it is definitely the best.

I use a Witney wool one, sometimes called a Newmarket rug, it is good quality heavy wool, really warm, that's why the racing people use them. I have found in the past that the loops on exercise blankets are not that good and things still slip, I fold mine back under the girth like they do in racing and it never moves.

I agree, you can't beat a good Witney (or any good wool) quarter sheet.

I use a Mark Todd exercise sheet. I've had a fleece one for a while and now I've bought a fleece inside, waterproof outer and they fasten round the saddle or over your legs so no they don't slip. Personally, I'm not keen on the ones that go under saddle.

I use the Mark Todd ones too and can second they dont move. I have the MT rain sheet one and the MT fleecy one. I also have a equafleece Hi Viz one.

i have seen the best exercise sheet ever imo, its the polypad duo, it is and numnah that is an exercise sheet, it quickly went on my list for santa!!!

only down side is it is quite expensive, but i think it is worth the money

ETA to add you can use it with a roller for the horse walker thats why i want it as it would be very multi purpose for me
