Best waterproof over trousers recommendation please

Now the ponies are back home I'm trying to be practical and am buying a few things every month that I think I'll need to make looking after them as easy as possible. Having been out in the pouring rain with the wind blowing my hair over my eyes a few night's ago I've decided that a pair of waterproof over trousers and a good waterproof coat are next on my list To that end, has anyone got a recommendation for either or both of these please? I want something that will go over my normal trousers and a coat that will dry off quickly rather than my Musto padded jackets that take forever to dry.

Monsoon parlour trousers. Last forever and only die when you take them through brambles. Stay completely dry inside and water runs off them.

My waterproof trousers came from one of the camping shops, Mountain Warehouse I think. Cheap as can be but very effective with good zips on the outside which helps with getting on and off over boots.

Definitely go for an outdoor brand rather than a horsey one - Berghaus (sp) are meant to be good.

I gave up on all the horsey/outdoorsy brands of "waterproof" trousers. If they are waterproof they tend not to breathe and then you end up all clammy and sweaty and disgusting.

I use good old agricultural calving trousers - brilliant on the yard and out on the water, completely waterproof (and other things proof) but they never get clammy.

I have a pair of waterproof over-trousers from Aldi, which I have had for at least 2 yrs. My waterproof jacket is hi-viz from The Range. I stopped buying 'equestrian' stuff yrs ago!

Farmer gummies are grand but do get quite clammy. It depends if you want to ride in them or just do yard work in them. Some of the racing ones are good. Ornella Prosperi have gone majorly down hill so wouldn't recommend them at all.

They used to be awesome but they barely stand up to 3 months of use these days.

I've used these for the 9 years, I tend to get a 2/3 years out of each pair. I find they're more breathable thsn some. I'm a size 10 but the large is very adjustable! They live on my wellies from Oct/Nov to March time, get hosed off occasionally and are generally badly treated.

paramo-not cheap but brilliant, breathable and great for dog walking too. otherwise for knocking about in I like waxed full chaps-can't abide plastic, sweaty trousers.

I got a pair of mountain warehouse waterproof trousers from a charity shop and they are excellent I also got a waterproof jacket from a charity shop too the jacket is called Olympus women's sportswear. I think the whole waterproof outfit cost me less than £10. I ride in it too.

best advice is go somewhere like go outdoors or mountain warehouse and they have a good range of good quality waterproofs at a range of prices. My current trousers are berghouse and their own fabric rather than goretex - cost me £20 at go outdoors and are brilliant.
Same for jacket.

Had this pair since last Christmas but sadly got caught climbing between the fence the other day and ripped beyond repair through the crotch area

I can vouch for the repair thing - I ripped the entire seat out my very expensive salopets (I think thats how you spell it) sliding down a hillside on my butt after I injured my ankle and I sent them back expecting them to fix but charge a fortune and they completely replaced the seat and half the legs for free!!!!!!!
