Best way to keep those pesky horse flies/clegs away from your horse?

Merlin is out in an amigo bug rug, but methinks he will need more protection as he appears to be chocolate to them

The only thing that seems to work for the very edible Paddy is Coopers Fly Plus along with a bug rug. I swear the flies are worse this year, Pad has rubbed all the top of his tail out...

Mine our in the day but I swear the flies are the worst I've seen them for a long time though. Went for a ride at 7pm tonight and they were awful, are there any new lotions and potions on the market that actually work?

Mine don't seem to be having any issues, they are out 24/7 with Derby House Tego combo rugs with masks on and I have doubled their garlic in their feeds, this seems to keep the flies away and has worked for me for the last 3 summers.

I came across a new fly repellent a couple of days ago, it has Lyn Russell's name on the front. It says that it is new on the bottle. I bought some and it does seem to be very effective, you have to be careful though as it does claim to be very strong. I think it cost about £12 so it wasnt particularly cheap but there was 50% extra free in the bottle so it was a nice big bottle.
