I work at a riding school and a certain pony (who also happens to be my favourite) always has a good brush when he comes in. He also has a jet wash after a hard work and has a wash with just the hose and soap if he needs it. I don't like to wash them too much as I don't want to wash l the oils out of there coats. Also the bundle of joy rolls every time he's turned out its the first thing he does! Despite his beauty routine he still has a never ending supply of dust. Anyone for any idea about how to get dust out of coats. Anything is worth a try. Sorry this is so long!

I have recently discovered that baby wipes work very well! Use fully open on a flat hand then use the otherside - I use 1 for each side and my lad looks fit for the show ring

When I worked on a point to point yard the horses got a daily groom and then clothed with hot water and johnsons baby oil. They were gleaming!

Alternatively, how about using a grooming mitt?

I also use a bucket of very hot water with few drops dettol and squirt of baby oil, wrung out towel and briskly rub coat all over, brings out all the dust and gives a lovely shine. also works brilliantly after clipping as well, to lift all the scurf and remove loose itchy hair.

Get hold of a pile of old terry squares, they're so useful for everything. We use my daughters old nappies, just damp to run over the bay pony's coat, lifts all the dust off and leaves a shine, she always gets high marks in tack & turnout despite the fact he lives out and almost never gets a bath. We do wash his white socks every now and then though.
