Have just bought my first little lorry (its a van conv actually to split hairs) and am wondering about the safest and most secure way to tie up whilst travelling. It has tie rings attached to the sides of the van and I was going to tie baling string to them and then lead rope to the baler twine. In tack shop this morning I have bought a trailer tie thingy. Its made by Aerborn and is a length of lead rope type stuff about 12" long with metal clips at either end. Now Ive got it home Im actualy wondering what its benefit is over the baler twine, can someone enlighten me, Im obviously missing something really simple but I cant see any reason now why it would be safer than my first option, am actually wondering if its less safe cos I cant see how you use it, at least twine would break if you need it to. Only going to be travelling short distances and he travels OK (would stand anywhere wth a haynet tbh). Can someone please explain to this elderly thicky!!
