Best Wellies for £30?

My new wellies have sprung a leak after only 2 months, I'm not impressed as they weren't particularly cheap. I shall be taking them back and woe betide any shop assistant that tries to refuse me a refund.

What would you replace them with?
 
hmm iv just got some joules ones but they havnt experienced a winter yet so not sure about them yet!
Cheap highstreet ones= nope last all of a day
Toggi= last about 8 months
Country wide £5 ones- lasted years but smell pretty bad

muckboots- more expensive but lasted longest of all iv tried
Iv had tonnes so ill try to remember what make they were for you !

I would put the extra money towards a pair of Muckboots - I am just about to replace mine after nearly 4 years - I wear them every day for t/o, mucking out and walking the dogs and have finally worn away the tread and after a few slips on the end of a coblet thought it was time for a new pair!!! All of that and you don't get cold feet in the winter!!

Are muckboots waterproof past the ankle? I have to walk home across the fields and originally swapped to wellies because I was getting wet legs in my yard boots from the long grass.
 
Yep - the bits that aren't rubber are neoprene so you can wet up to the tops and still not have puddles in your socks!! The original style have a sort of elastic top to so 'hug' your leg and stop rain/water getting in!! When mine get really muddy in the winter you just stand and hose them of - warm and dry toes are the way forward!!
 
My joules ones lasted about 2 months, not impressed!
My hunters are very comfy and have lasted better, although still not been through winter. You might find some for a bargain on ebay
 
dont bother with joules(even though they are guaranteed for a year)mine done about 7 weeks and i had to get a refund.

The new hunters are rubbish, mine lasted about 6 months against 5 years for the previous pair. Thye are made in the far east now, not Scotland anymore. I will never buy another pair ever!
 
Muckboots seem to last very well. Definately warm and dry tootsies in the winter! And seriously sweaty in the summer, but that could be because I have fat legs and they can't pump the hot air out!

Hunters used to be excellent! But we've been through about four or five pairs in a year (three people). Won't be buying any more, which is really sad as they were brilliant in the past

My original pair of Hunters lasted over ten years and resisted pitchforks and could be walked for miles in. The new ones, pah
