Buying Dad a pair of wellies for christmas and I am just interested to see which ones are the best as I just tend to wear my Dubarrys all the time and my hunters get the occasional trip out. They must be able to withstand 5 miles walking the dogs a day and anything else thrown at them.

Have a look at Seeland. Made for the shooting and beating market and I've found my ones to be very comfortable, warm and not as expensive as some of the others

Muck boots. Mine are in their 3rd winter, I wear them almost all winter (and a lot of the summer for the 2 yrs!) for ponies and dog walking and they are hardly worn. Make sure you get the proper ones though - I bought a pair of copycats for my partner, half the price but have worn through the sole in less than a year and have cracked over the toes so now leak. Looked the same but obviously not!

I have Toggi Wanderers which are easily in their 3rd winter, but I'm not certain they do men's in that style. Worth checking out though, as they are fabulous.
