I'm moving to Canada (spending some time in Alberta riding western then Vancouver island riding English for the majority of the year) to do a working pupil job and would probably be there for atleast a year so need a pair or two of boots to withstand a winter and a summer. Mainly for yard work but it's a professional school so would love if you could ride in them.

Does anyone have any boot suggestions?? I've been looking at ariat bromounts & Stella Polaris but they are to good to muck out in. They need to be black in color too.

I've honesty no idea the dress code yet but I deffinitely know I won't be allowed wellies or big bulky muckers. I need them to be waterproof and warm.

Alot of boots fit the bill but was hoping someone would have suggestions as im abit worried boots made for over here wont withstand the cold in Alberta.

Thanks in advance :)

I honestly can't see anything we have withstanding those kind of temperatures and weather. I am finding they struggle to cope with British weather!

If I were you I would ignore horse brands and instead look at snow boots. You will find cheaper products that hold up better in snow and cold. While you are at it buy ski trousers and a ski jacket. Again nothing horsey is actually useful against proper cold weather but ski wear is fantastic and you can get it cheap from tkmaxx. I wore ski trousers over my jodhpurs last year while my horse was stabled on top of a mountain in Scotland and I was the only one who was warm.

drywalker do superwarm boots. a friend bought me a pair and my feet have never been as comfortable. they are supposed to keep you warm to -30 and I would not be supprised if they did. just make sure you use a shoehorn to put them on as I was warned the heels can wear too fast otherwise

Whichever ones you get, look to change the insoles to thermal ones that reflect the cold back down. A great deal of the "Oh flip it's cold!" will come up from the ground.

You'll find you'll acclimatise and will not doubt be too hot when you come home!

Hope you have a lovely time. Sounds like an excellent opportunity :)
