Best wood paint for stables

Would like to refresh my wooden stables in grey paint. Whats the best and most economical paint for this please? Dont want to redo every year and Ill be using lots so dont want to spend a fortune!

Yes outside, The stables were/are painted green but its coming off and I want to paint them grey. Creosote and engine oil wouldnt give the grey colour though would it?
