As title please but not pramox!!
Thank you for your reply. What were the symptoms your horse had?Mine has just been treated with a 5 day course of panacur followed two weeks later with a double dose of strongid P.
I found my boy had sores under his tail on his dock and was really itchy. He had like a crusty yellow stuff round his bottom, which I'm now keeping clean daily. He also has a slight swelling on the right of his anus which I read is where the worms fester. His symptoms do point to pin worms I think.
Might be worth doing the Sellotape test so you know for sure.
What's the sellotape test??
That depends really as I think panacur has a lot of resistance issues with redworm etc. so if you need to tackle other worm burdens then strongid or something may be more effective. My youngster brought pinworm and redworm with him. Unusually he has never been itchy with them, the first thing I knew was seeing pinworm in his poo, and even then it’s only if he does a ‘wet’ one. I have used panacur a couple of times with him specifically to target pinworm (as he wasn’t in good enough condition to hit with much else to start with) and then more targeted for redworm and tape.Thank you. Trying to work out the cheapest way of doing it!! He is due to be wormed so think the 5 day panacur won't hurt anyway?
