Does anyone have a recommendation for the best single use wormer paste type to use at the moment? He's in pasture grazed only by him, any thoughts?

Thanks

You need to answer some questions first.
1. Do you poo pick - how frequently?
2. How old is he?
3. How much grazing is it turned out on?
4. What and when did you last worm with?
5. Was he stabled for much of the winter?
6. Have you ever done any faecal worm egg counts? If so what were the results like.
Only then can you get a correct answer

i used Pramox a week ago.
my next one will be Eraquell in summer.

LOL - ditto this but can raise you - a dose given yesterday ;-) ;-)

Can anyone advise on this though? (sorry to hijack the thread) Are you supposed to keep horses in for 48 hours afterwards? Bit late now but I read the packet and it did not say anything other than for environmental issues as they do not know how it may impact the environment they should be kept in. Not for any stable management reasons relating to health of horses.

I had this discussion before we Pramoxed a week or two ago. Ours get poo picked and are and in seperate paddocks and the only reason we could find for keeping them off the pasture is that there is a tiny chance that you may poison beetles or other soil dwellers. If you poo pick daily there really seems little reason to keep horses in.

Tapeworm this time of year.
Pramox is best as it is strong and will kill tape worm for 6 months, so then using normal green equest every 13 weeks through the summer you only worm 4 times in a year.

If you use another tapework wormer you will have to double dose.

it is best to keep the horses in after worming, definatly if you dont muck pick but even if you do you will be damaging the insects!
