Ok so have got the prolite XC boots all round for Pidge after recommendations on here and yes they are fab and don't slip etc. But they do have a tendancy to get sand in between leg and boot which ends up rubbing Pidge a little because he has white legs. So do I stick with the prolites which I love or is there anything better I can use?

my friends horse had a similar problem, always got a rub in the same place on one leg. she tried changing boots but still happened so i suggested using tubigrip under boots, we did this at Mattingley and no more rubs!! def worth a try

Ah I've heard of people using this before, what size would I need and how exactly do you use it?

So could try the talc and the tubigrip then? Anyone got any pictures of tubigrip in use please?

I use Prolites and tubigrip on one leg for mary because she has an old scar that rubs on any boots you use unless fluffy, which i dont want to use xc.
There are some pro pics of her on http://www.horsepower-photography.co.uk/

She just has it on her off fore leg, I use size D, runs up the leg folds over the top and then taped round the top.

I would try the NEW boots - I have had to move on to these for my TB who has one leg that has compromised skin due to a degloving injury. The NEW lightweight compeition boots work really well on this area and no rubbing at all.

Thanks for that are they ok on sand and through water as have some lightweight XC new boots that I've never used yet?
