Anyone got any good yard boots that are suitable for riding in also? Just after some ideas really please....

So fed up of changing between my muckers and long riding boots!!

Toggie canyons are fab. Fully water proof with a 'riding boot' sole on them so they can safely be used for riding.

I love my tall woof wear boots, sort of like a cross between muckers and long boots - warm and come up high on your leg so no rubbing from the saddle or leathers. Comparitivly quite cheap too.

They look great, do they come up true to size? Im 6 1/2 and never know if to go up or down a size :-/

they do look smart, what they like to clean though? Can you just hose them down :-/

I have had mine for at least 18 months and have never actually cleaned them :o :o They are fully waterproof though so I would imagine a hosing down (which I have just about managed with mine!) followed by some leather conditioner would do the job. I really should look after mine better!

Excellent; im a bit lazy when it comes to my own cleaning :-) Do they come up true to size?

Love love my Ariat Windermere's. They are soo comfy, walk the dogs in them, muck out in them, ride in them, then smart enough to wear with jeans if i have to pop to the supermarket and have no time to go home and change.

The, woofwear ones are not recommended for riding in, and there are some horror stories of peoples legs being caught in the stirrups when wearing them (can;t remember if it was this forum or another one).

The Muck Boot company Ltd, do a fantastic range of boots and have specific ones that are suitable for riding and yard work and i've heard nothing but great reports about them. I have ariat wellies, as you can ride in them also, but I've found the quality to be not that great. they are good enough however, prior to getting them I had a pair of toggi wellies that were worn every single day (summer and winter) for 10 years before they cracked and needed replaced, my ariats are just coming up for a year old and theyve cracked already (tho not leaking yet).

I also have Ariat Grassmeres (all my ariats have been gifts honest:) ) which you can do both in too but I would say a tad tooo expensive for everyday yard work.

Yes I'd say so, I'm an 8 as are my boots :) I did struggle to get mine on for a good couple of weeks as I have such a high arch but after a bit of wrestling they eventually gave and are now no problem to get on and off. They are very comfy and warm, never had more then a thin pair of socks on with mine (mainly due to the fact I probably wouldn't be able to get my foot in the boot :p ) but I've really not needed it.

The Canyons are fine size wise. Got my usual size and they were perfect. Haven't actually cleaned mine yet. Have just been hosing them down and they have survived so far :)

Hi I agree with x-di-x

I got my foot stuck after just getting on - managed to untangle my foot but have not rode in them since - I also know of a child that fell off was wearing these boots & got foot stuck and was dragged along for a few feet - luckily she was riding in the indoor could of been a lot worse

Canyons again - however after 2 winters of thick clay mud an only the odd hosing off mine are starting to look a little worse for wear. Calf size is pretty good and they will give another inch or so after a bit of wear.
They do drop though, and I find mine can be a bit annoying to ride long in now as they catch on my saddle where they've dropped a bit too much now. That said, I'd get another pair for day to day wear, then splurge on some ariats for 'best'!

Agree with the first part. Had a pair of WW - rode in them once after being too lazy to change into my leather riding boots and had to get off halfway through the ride and go and change them anyway! The size of them does mean they get stuck in your stirrup - really awkward.

Love my Grassmeres - use them every single day (clean them regularly though) and ride in them as well if they're not mucky. I didn't pay for them (they were a gift as my boyfriend knew I wanted them but was too stingy to buy them!) but having tried them now I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

I use my Grassmeres for everything. I have skinny legs, so most boots are too wide for me but the lacing on Grassmeres means they fit me well.

I have Woof boots, but the design of the fastenings means they went into holes quickly and they make my feet sweat. Tried riding in them once and they weren't good.

I like my muck boot company riding wellies, great in wet mucky weather, roll them under the tap and great to ride in, another roll under the tap and into the car for home
