Short - I like Mountain horse, the lace up one whatever they are called.
Long and for wet and mud - Muck boots, the one you can ride in. About £65 I think and very warm and hardwearing.
Not wet and muddy - Dublin Pinnacle. Long brown leather, look very nice, ride in them, £150. Love em!
i LOOOOOOOOOVE my dublin river tall boots. so comfy, last ages (im onto my second pair as i wore my 1st pair everywhere - i virtually wore them to bed) Waterproof and warm (especially so with dublin fleece welly warmers).
Ive got a pair of the mountain horse mountain riders with steel toecaps which are really comfy but no good in the mud as they're the lace up version, you tend to get wet feet.
and for summer - those dublin short boots which are like a cross between trainers and hiking boots paired with MH duralon leggings, so much more breathable than anything ive tried before (i know its a bit early to be advising on summer footware but if i talk about it it might come back sooner!!!)
Yes, Just toggs steel toe caps are brilliant. They are sooo comfortable and light yet very tough if a horse stands on your toes. I normally hate steel toe caps because they tend to be really heavy, but these feel like regular boots. They are waterproof too within reason.
The only boots that have kept my feet warm all winter are Muck Boots. Comfortable, easy to clean, completely waterproof and not too hard on the pocket!
I wear them everyday and they are wonderfully comfortable, practical and look smart with jeans. I have ridden in them a couple of times and they were fine. They are waterproof and you can just wash the mud off them under a tap or with a hose. This morning the meadows were very flooded when I walked the dogs and I waded through water up to the top of the nubuck bit no probs whatsoever!
In fact they are so great, if I could marry them I probably would!!!
