Hi
What are peoples opinions on the best youngstock mix? I come across spiller and D&H mare and youngstock but then D&H suregrow came up in my search and alot of reviews so far have said they prefer the suregrow to the spillers.

Why feed a molasses ridden cereal based feed to mares and youngstock?

Suregrow is a balancer, you can add it to a small amount of unmollassed beet and it gives them everything they need. My mare and foal have done well on it and a 20kg bag lasts me about 3 weeks, I'd far rather feed that than something that is full of crap....

I would prefer to use Suregrow before any mix. It's especially formulated and you need to feed very little of it in comparison to a mix so it avoids molasses too. I've found they don't tend to have growth spurts as obviously with a mix, the growth is far more regular which is better for their joints too.

Seconded, plus the quantities needed are small so it is easy to feed.
