Betsy adds to her CV

I took Betsy hunting today, her first time. She was great! I thoroughley enjoyed myself, having only made it to the opening meet so far this year and that was on foot. She stood, she jumped, she gave leads to sticky ones, she discovered extended trot

, and thankfully managed to come home with four shoes on, which was more than two other people I rode home with did! Was a real tonic after a few not-so-good days, with an old mare being put down at the yard, and hearing the news that one of the horses we bred had to be put down a couple of weeks ago too. Also found out a school friend died last week, just hope that these things come in 3s and that's it for a while.

So, in two days she will be a dressage horse for the first time

, off to Patchetts to do a couple of tests. Must remove about 3 stone of mud from my jacket and boots first though
