He seems much happier tonight. This morning he was still quiet and had obviously not really moved much in his stable, wasn't keen to come out whilst i mucked out, still quite withdrawn.
This evening his stable looked like he'd been moving about a lot more, he was watching the yard goings on with a more alert interest and was asking to come out of the stable.
I put him in the manège for a bit whilst I mucked out, and he was walking with a bit of purpose, like he was trying to 'walk it off' and I would have described his action as more 'slow behind' rather than 'stiff behind' that he was yesterday and the day before.
After 10 mins in the manège he came to the gate and neither to me to come back in, and then settled happily with a pile of soaked hay and watching what everyone was doing, much more like his usual self.
Whilst in the manège he went for a pee, and I noticed it was a surprisingly normal colour compared to what I had mucked out from over night and the day before, so I'm hopeful that I caught it so early that there is no actual damage. If it's warm tomorrow I'll try him with a bit of muzzled turnout as moving around is best for him once the danger is over.
Rhythm is a little star and is still quite happy to accompany Snip on boxrest, however he's a little hyper! And when I lunged him tonight he bounced out like a pig squealing space hopper! Couple of laps of squealing and leaping then he settled to a very forward power trot, so I let him wear himself out like that so he was more than happy to go back in for the night (haylage helps too!)
