Has anyone got a crystal ball that can tell me when the weather is going to get better? I'm desperate to get my boys out all day and actually get a lunch break, something I've not had since end of September!! I bring in at lunch as fields are wet and weather unpredictable. Please tell me it won't be long!!

wet and windy here until the end of the month according to BBC. I’m not a fair weather rider in general but there’s no fun trying to get a muddy wet hairy & slightly nappy youngster going again after winter hols in this weather with no facilities 😭 bitten the bullet now and we’ve been going out more but really hoping April will be better.

So depressing, was looking back at photos and this time last year was so warm! Photos of my children playing outside in summer dresses/ t shirts no sign of wet sloppy mud! The bbc weather forecast is showing mild weather but rain most days up to the 28th march 🤦‍♀️ hopefully april will bring warm, sunny dry days to clear the wet muddy fields up!!

I have the first week in April off and was hoping to catch up on some jobs that need dry ground. I keep picturing myself doing the jobs and it's sunny and warm. Think its wishful thinking!

Its so depressing, especially after Feb was so unseasonably nice, warm and dry, I even rolled my fields in Feb which is unheard of! All the forecasts I have seen bascially say March is manky, I've got everything crossed that April will be better and at least drier, I'm so, so fed up of mud and rain now.

Picture was taken a couple of days ago and the fields you can see were all rolled two weeks ago.

I held off harrowing and rolling as i knew we would get rain after such a dry Feb but i'm now wondering when i'm going to manage it. I really want her out overnight and on her little track as soon as possible so the grass doesnt get a head start but who knows now.
I'm also trying to bring her into work and at the in hand phase of it and its not fun in the wind, rain i can just about cope with but the wind is trying to walk a horse shaped kite.

I am glad of the rain. I'd like to avoid another drought - or yet another reason for hay prices to rocket/acorns to be extra toxic this year. It's been a dry winter, here at least. It does feel a bit like the seasons have moved - winter being more January - March now than November - Feb.

It’s shite. February.. horses out 24:7. Fields dry. March .. mud. Rain. Sleet. Snow. Lost my mojo to ride too.
I have been riding all winter. But these ladf few weeks, like you, have totally lost all umph. It won't hurt horse to have a few easy weeks but very frustrating as I can now hack before work light wise but can't because of weather. Got up early to ride this morning. School was frozen so thought I'd hack but then fog came down and I'm guessing possible icy patches on road.

I use Weather Underground. It's pretty accurate for the next few days and gives a 10 day forecast which is ok for a general guide.

My farrier is due on Friday and I'm trying to work out how to clean muddy feathers with no water pressure. Their legs are grim.

My top fields are sodden. I'm supposed to be having contractors in to aerate them but it's going to take weeks before machinery can get on them. I've got photos popping up from last year on FB and the grass was much further along.

I am sure we have had more rain here in the past two weeks than we have had for the whole winter! Mine have certainly spent the most nights in in one week this past week.
