Whilst shopping online on robinsons tonight, I noticed random things kept being added to my trolley. After refreshing the page a few times I noticed I was on other peoples accounts and trolleys and potentially had access to all their details. Not sure if this is the same with everyone but beware it might not be just me able to see everyone elses! Anybody else experiencing these problems. I have contacted robinsons and have been told no one will collect my message until tommorow.

Wouldn't buy from Robinsons anyway after my experiences with them. Equestrian clearance warehouse are soo much better, even with an annoying website.

It's definitely gone all kinds of wrong. Just entered the site, turned the TV over and looked back at the screen to discover 10 pairs of boots in my 'basket' (not one pair in my size either):D Weird.

You're right! Just went on and put a game in the basket.Few minutes later it vanished and a riding hat appeared in my basket instead!
Nightmare - wonder what happens if "orders" go through and are paid for and everyone gets the wrong items??

EEeek if you go through to checkout it gives you the option to change the delivery address. It does give you somebody's name and address details. I am assuming that you have to put your card details in though to complete the purchase.

Tbh I'd stay well away from that site tonight and defo don't be giving any card details out.

It could have been hacked or anything. Might be worth running an antivirus through too.

I've sent numerous emails through their diffrent help/ customer care centres. Surely this is against the law? Spread the word please, needs sorting out! I for one certainly wont be trusting this site anymore!

I went on and it's working for me, well as far as I can tell, but not going to risk buying something just incase! Hope they sort it out soon though, for the sake of people who don't know what's going on!
And I've posted this on both H+H fb groups :)

Hi everyone,

First, I'd like to apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by our current website instability. Since Wednesday, our systems have been placed in an intolerable situation and we've made a super-human effort to keep the site live and working properly.

So far, we have managed to keep the site live but it also appears that here and there, it is not working properly. It is a temporary problem and I'll explain more about that in a moment.

I would strongly reassure you that incorrect products appearing in baskets do not mean that card details will suddenly become less private as that information is far, far more secure.

Equally, I accept that this is easy to say from our perspective and everyone is entitled to have their concerns. The issue here is one of confidence. If you have any uncertainty or lack of confidence about our site currently, I would urge you to make your order or enquiry via telephone. Our number is 0844 573 1000 and our team are waiting to help you.

The issue is being caused by us being forced to change our hosting partner, as a result of our web partner ceasing trading. We have done as much as we can to shield the site from the huge effects this has had on us and we anticipate that within hours, we may be able to say that the problem has passed. Unfortunately, I can't yet make any promises.

If you have any concerns, please raise them with our CS team at customer.service@robinsonsequestrian.com and check this thread for an update, which we'll happily add as soon as we have anything we can confirm. I'm also expecting to blog about this episode to explain the situation more fully, in time.

I appreciate that our difficulties are not your problem and I apologise that we have not been able to match our usual high standards. On the other hand, I felt the need to add some perspective to counter the speculation that we're somehow acting illegally or deliberately shoddily.

I also accept that we may not always be everyone's favourite option (as one or two posters have implied). If that's your view, that is of course your right. However, I would point out that the events that have affected Robinsons over the last week or so are through no fault of our own and could happen at any time to almost every company with a website. I'm just asking for the same level of patience and perspective that you may feel able to give any company you feel positively about.

I hope to return on the thread quite soon to give you a much more positive update.

Thanks for reading,

Paul

Thank you for explaining Paul.
Good luck with getting the problem sorted, I've seen this happen with other on line sites from time to time, so wasn't too worried.

Update to my earlier post about our re-hosting, as per our FB page:

Due to essential maintenace, we need to switch our website off for approximately the next 2 hrs, from approx. 2:15. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Once back online, we expect that all the recent problems we've seen online for the last 2 days will be resolved *crosses fingers*.

We'll update you as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience :-)

Aww I think that is a brilliant response from Robinsons, shows that they are trying to solve the problem and yes I know we all have our personal views on places and that of course is everyones entitlement but well done to Robinsons for actually bothering to respond to the people that matter THE BUYERS. Thanks Paul your updates are brilliant..

Although on the other hand I really wouldn't have minded logging on to buy a hoof pick / haynet to be finding a rug or new boots being posted through my letter box instead.

Never had a problem with Robinsons, Paul seems nice! Hi Paul, hope someone makes you a cuppa when you get home today (IF you get home!) must be one hell of a nightmare day!

Muffinmunsh with all due respect they clearly haven't done this because they wanted to pee everyone off, its a simple mistake which Paul has explained they are trying to fix. Maybe if you bothered to read the posts before chipping in you might understand the conversation.

I don't mean to be rude but it doesn't break any rules "as Paul has explained" all card details were still protected and to be honest with the powers of internet nowadays any IT freak could no doubt find out anyones address quite simply. I use the royal mail address finder quite often so to locate someone wouldn't be too hard.

Come on peeps lets give them a bit of a break Paul is probably pulling his hair out and it doesn't help when it's something out of your own hands.

As Christmassy_Clover said Paul go get yourself a well deserved cup of tea.

Hi everyone and thanks for all the kind comments! I assure you that not only am I nice, everyone else here is too. I especially need to credit our IT guys who have been in the office almost 24/7 since this started.

I know we're occasionally seen as a 'Tesco' of the equestrian market, a huge faceless corporation but we're still a SME, independent and family-owned and operated. At the end of the day, that's not as important as the products we offer, the prices we set and the service we give.

Anyway, the site is live once more. Thanks for bearing with us and if you're curious about what happened, check my blog in the coming weeks at the address below. Here's our latest FB status:

*Hi all! FYI, our site is now live again and should be fine now. As a "thank-you" to everyone for waiting, we're offering Free Postage* (that's £4.95 off all P&P, which makes standard delivery to the UK mainland Free) all weekend! :-) Check the site for details or check your inbox!*

Hope you all find the freepost offer useful and have a great weekend everybody!

Paul
