Beware certain person buying saddles on ebay.....!

just a quick warning to people!

i recently sold a saddle on ebay.... i then noticed it was a newly registered member with 0 feedback, they asked me to post to a different address which i refused to! i posted it (via courier) to them and have the tracking info... well.... they are saying it never arrived - yet the tracking confirmed they recieved it on the 29th November! this individual also is only contacting me via my paypal email address rather than via ebay.

i really hope if they open a case ebay/paypal take the tracking info as proof as i know they always seem to favour the buyers!

i guess my advice is always use a service with tracking numbers etc that can be checked online??? I'm now so stressed out about this as it was a brand new saddle :(
 
you can set your selling page to only accept bids from those with a certain number of good feedback etc etc, I think.
get Ebay to intervene on your behalf and put pressure on them. scan in proof of tracking, delivery etc. Good luck, it's a nightmare.
 
I think I read that correctly in that you sent it to their registered ebay address? If so, well done, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about on that score. As previously suggested, get that tracking info on your computer so you can add it to any ebay dispute.

So they've paid for it, but saying it hasn't arrived? And you know it has? Then I guess they'll start a dispute if they are serious about it, and then you'll be fine although you may find Paypal take the money back until the dispute is settled. Alternatively they may have chanced their arm and will now just go away.

Why not ring ebay and ask for some advice?

I wouldn't worry too much, but do ring for advice, or go on the EBay Help forums which are very good. You've used a trackable courier service and have proof of delivery, even if she opens a Paypal disupte you are likely to win.
 
Pre-empt them - start a dispute immediately through Paypal and send them the tracking number/proof of delivery
 
i dont think i can open a dispute before them as cant you only open them as a seller if they dont pay?

I had a bad feeling as soon as i saw who had won it - their username gave me a hint... it indicates they are out to make cash - fair enough but they havent listed anything....

i did sent it to their registered ebay and paypal addy, and said i wasnt prepared to send it elsewhere.

The thing that worries me is that hubby had this - about the same time last year. It was only for a star wars figure but even so, we had proof of postage etc and ebay stilllll refunded the buyer! we appealed but they stood by the refund :(


I have emailed the couriers and asked them to keep the tracking info online as long as possible - or can they let me know when the tracking numbers no longer work. I guess i may also need to ask them for a copy of the delivery notice??

the one positive thing is i paid extra to up the value of the courier service as it only covered £50 value as standard.

I really could do without the stress though....

their email is quite funny as they cant even spell saddle correctly!
 
Don't know if the couriers you used ask for a signiture but if you know the name of the buyers check the signiture matches.
Our wedding photos and several other things have gone to someone with a similar address and they signed for it :mad:.


Has also happened with an e-bay purchase and e-bay ruled they had to send another one as it hadn't arrived despite it having registered as delivered. Guy down the road bought it round two weeks later (had been delivered to the wrong address). We were full of apologies to sellers) and sent one back to him. Sorry its not encouraging but hopefully it is a delivery cock up. :o
