Cubbing is training the hounds and killing little baby fox cub's hence the word cubbing. Fox hunting is killing the actual fox.

cubbing, is slow and much about training and getting everyone fit for foxhunting

As far as I am aware cubbing is now called Autumn Hunting, it is training the young hounds to work.

I also am not aware that cubbing involves killing anything

just training the hounds and getting the horses ready/fit for the season.

Cubbing never has involved killing cubs. Cubbing involved training the young hounds and it also used to help disperse the cubs at the time when they are leaving the den. The name has always helped confusion, hence it was changed some years ago to Autumn Hunting.

Bites tongue and gets out of thread because I suspect you are either wielding a large wooden spoon or just completely ignorant of the facts.

OP, turnout is different yes, traditionally you should wear ratcatcher/tweed and tie before Opening Meet, some people don't bother to plait up before Opening Meet either.

Absolute correct, AML. The little fluffy cubs are all grown up by the time autumn hunting starts!
