Beware of spiders!

House spiders have got bloody huge over the last few years :o

I don't mind them too much if I expect them to be there or see them comming-but the sneaky buggers scare me :o
Thankfully the cat is pretty good at spoting and dispatching them, although the HUGE blorn thing that moved like lightning was of no intrest to him yesterday

Our cat won't touch them - he got bitten on the tongue when he was younger by a spider he was playing with and learned his lesson. Mind you that cat runs screaming from guinnea pigs, so he could just be yellow.

Spiders...eugch...shudder...yuk - worse than worms and they make me shudder.

The spiders that are native to Devon are called false widow spiders. They do bite but are no where near as poisonous as the real ones. They look just like a big house spider but they're black not brown. I only know this because I had one in my bedroom, (I dropped a heavy book on it and left it until someone could remove it). I am terrified of them and can't even suck them up a hoover because they would have to pass close to my hands. I know it's an irrational fear but I can't get past it.
