Hi, any more info, have any horses actualy been stolen? Has this happened to someone you know or yourself? Or is this something you have heard on the grapevine, can you be more specific please.

There have been zillions of posts recently about whether this so-called plaiting (it could be tangles) is just an urban (or rural!) myth or not. It might be helpful for you if you look the thread up to see some of the discussion and information.

OMG I was at a show recently and they had all been targeted

there were plaits left right and centre

there wa a massive long thread on this recently, think its in the forum for stolen/missing horses. theres loads in that about the debate over these so called plaits. (tangles!!!!!)

Sorry thats its ruffled all your feathers, but i didnt know there were already posts in lost/stolen, it hasnt been that windy where i am, and neither of mine, or other peoples horses i know have these 'tangles', so hearing 'someone' putting a plait in a mane, for someone to come back to steal, whether its true or not did worry me, so being nice i thought i would warn you lot!

Emy87....
Dont worry so many people throw it back in your face.
There has been a lot of discussions lately about this and yes a lot of timewasters are talking bull**** however when you know someone etc and know it is happening in your area then people should just be quiet and listen and be thankful. Ignore the rude comments hun x

I think many of us who have ponies with long manes have seen these tangles, most of us, however, are sensible enough to realise that these tangles happen naturally.

I've said before, my two good horses with their short pulled manes who are happy to come over and see anyone who comes into the field have never been "tagged" for theft. My elderly Welsh with his mane "au naturel" who is utterly freaked out if anyone new comes into the field and won't go within 100 yards of them, and who finds it difficult to allow us to fiddle with his mane has been tagged numerous times.
