I have just seen a parking warden giving a ticket out to a car that was parked over two bays. Sitting in the back of this car was an old english sheep dog. All the windows in the car were closed. Now its not sunny here today but overcast but it bothered me. I turned the car around and drove past again. Still no sign of the owner but the parking warden was still there.

By now the bee was in my bonnet so I did another lap of the town and drove past again, poor dog was still there so I stopped and spoke to the parking warden. Idiot was no help and suggested I phone the RSCPA myself. He was standing next to the car waiting for the owner, I'd like to think he would have done something to help should the dog start to look distressed. He said he thought it wasn't that warm today! Bet he wouldn't like to sit in his car for half an hour with the windows up wearing his winter woolies. Flipping idiot. Anyway I had to go to work and planned to ring the Police 101 number from there. I did another lap and the car was gone.

Sorry for the long winded moan but for goodness sake, are people so stupid?
 
Somebody parks a tiny car near my work with a madly barking GSD type thing loose in it while they go to the shops and leave one window down a tiny crack. Keep meaning to swop the poor sod with my own, he would just eat the car interior for them and teach them a lesson!!!

No issue with proper travel cages, proper ventilation, shaded areas, checking back regularly, water left, etc but that's just irresponsible to my mind.
 
The annoying thing was that they got a parking ticket for parking like and idiot but no warning for being an idiot with their dog.

I may of course be speaking out of line and the parking warden might have had a word. Yeh right ;)

Now this I would like to see - not that you would do it of course........ imagine their faces when they cam back. That type of person doesn't take responsibility though.
 
In the defence of the Traffic Warden, would you have an rspca official handing out parking tickets? I don't know where you are, but It's cloudy, overcast and cold here today, and I'm not sure just how much harm is likely to come to the dog. Perhaps the TW thought that as the dog didn't seem to be at risk, it was none of his concern. Just a thought!

I didn't expect him to do anything in an official capacity but he could have called the police and got them to deal with it. He was standing next to the car for at least 15 minutes (that I know of) and I would like to think the couldn't watch the dog suffer.

This is a small town and the nearest RSCPA officer is around 40 miles away. Nearest local police station 200 yards.
 
i completely agree with how terrible it is to leave a dog in a vehicle on a hot day without adequate ventilation, shade and water... however this dog wasnt distressed and it was overcast; the owners were back in a short space of time. I dont really understand and if there was a problem why not call someone? :confused:

Through all this, including stopping and having a chat with the TW, you still weren't able to use your hands, and make a simple 'phone call?
