My gelding is by the stallion BG Acquisition and has Button Bright on his dam's side. I know very little about either but would like to know more. My boy is very sweet, lovely temperament, a proper galloper, and smart on the flat, not the scopiest but could be an event type as is fairly bold xc and would find the time easy.

Anyone know anything about either of those horses?

Also maybe a long shot- does anyone remember an Elvis at quob stables? Would have been a couple of years ago and he would have been around 4!

Had a lovely eventer by him, real honest sort who won at PN and went N. Now field masters. His feet always let him down, sadly.
BG Aquisition stood at Kelston Stud I believe

Goodness....blast from the past! I went to PC with the daughter of the woman who owned BG Acquisition/the stud where I think he was bred, but certainly stood at one point - was frequently at the stud with my pony, and remember him, a lovely lovely stallion, I always remember him being a very kind sort. This was mid 1990's..... can't offer much on the horse itself but the title of your post caught my attention. Feel free to PM though if you want names etc.

Thank you both of you. It's nice to hear about his sire, who I believe died not long after my boy was born, as did his mum a few years later I think. Do either of you happen to know whether his stallion competed, if so what discipline, and maybe how he did too? :)

TheMule: I really hope my boy gets a chance to event, his feet thankfully are very good, and I just think he'd love it. But his temperament is what makes him so special to me, he's such a big sop.

Alsxx: That's lovely to hear, I knew his sire was an older gent and had always hoped he was a kind sort, do you happen to know when he died? I just wonder if my boy was one of the last of his offspring.

Thank you so much, both of you :)

Aww he's gorgeous, he's got the same stripe down his face as my lad!

Button Bright was an HIS stallion that produced several good eventers a few years back. Jancis Tulloch's Bally Free and Charlotte Agnew's Little Beau were both 4 star horses by Button Bright

I am the daughter of the ex owner of Blue Gray Stud. I still have pics of you and your pony. Been in USA for 20+ years but in UK now. PM me sometime so we can catch up

My mum bought BG Acquisition as a youngster and stood him at Blue Gray Stud before the stud dissolved in 2000. He competed in eventing and I have a ton of pics if your interested
