Hi - I fed BHF Fibrebeet to my welsh section D yearling colt last winter with Lexvet Cool Mix. He thrived and looked amazing. I was wondering about feeding this to all 3 of my Welsh cobs this Winter to save buying an assortment of feeds to suit all three but my 13 year old mare has had a touch of laminitis before and my 21year old gelding is a bit of a "head case"! Do you think it would be viable to have all 3 on Fibrebeet and Lexvet Cool Mix this Winter? My mare is a very good doer and my gelding is nutty although my yearling colt was on this regime last winter and really thrived? They all have access to ad-lib hay and are currently at grass (very little!) from 8am til 5pm. Any advice most welcome! Thanks 😊

Fibre beet contains alfalfa so may not suit the laminitic or nutty one if they are sensitive to it, I would probably just use speedibeet for all of them to keep it simple and get a bag of quality chaff if it wanted the youngster to have more but doubt he needs it as most sec D's should do fine on not too much feed as long as they have plenty of forage, in fact I would probably feed nothing other than adlib hay unless I felt they really needed it, most native breeds really don't require hard feed in any form unless they are really working.
