hi im 14 and Kean to start taking the BHS exams as i would like to become a riding instructor, has any one got any idea if there are any that you can take at my age and if so what you have to do/go in order to take them
thanks

Not sure on the age restrictions butguess about 16. Do you have your own pony/horse? If so then I'd join the local pony club and do their exams. I did it this way and completed my Pony Club B Test which gave me direct entry into BHS Stage 3. Much cheaper to do it this way x

Oh thats a shame. I would never have got where I am today without my pony club. Shame there's no way you could. Do you think you could teach her to travel well. My horse was the worst traveller, just couldn't stand up around bends but he got better over time and now travels miles to events. If at all poss then it would give you a head start as otherwise looks like you'll ahve to wait 2 yrs (although theres no harm training for those exams now I guess) x

the minimum age for stage 1 is 14. i ride regualarly have my own horse and also college ones to have lessons on. i passed stage one first time and found it really easy tbh haha. there are training days and stuff held at equestrian centres in preparation for all exams. but if you feel confident about everything to do with daily care of horses then you shouldnt need to do a lot of training, i didnt do any training and passed. hope this kinda helps

Min age is 14, I managed to pass 1st time with no training other then spending a few days at my yard brushing up on a few things.
I would reccommend getting the Stage one traing book and working through it working out where u have gaps and arrange training with your instructor
