BHS membership? Petplan?

Hi all,
Need to get BHS membership gold. However, I was told that they'll send an email saying you've been covered once it's immediately in place. Would this email include my membership number? Or do I need to wait?

Though I may go for petplan instead but unsure so I'm happy to hear what others say.

The email should include membership number, just took some out for my sister and it was clearly in the confirmation email. Do you only want to insure for public liability/accidents? in which case defo just stick with bhs, I wouldn't touch pet plan with a bargepole.
