Would i need Gold membership for general liabilty insurance to ride other peoples horses or would Silver, Bronze cover it?

thnks

Gold is the only one which offers inclusive insurance, though it is important to note that it is classed as 'last resort' insurance; i.e. if there are other policies in place they (not the BHS) must be used preferentially.

AFAIK it is the horse's owner (or loanee) who takes out a public liability insurance on the horse. Check out the FAQ's (bold added)

How many horses are insured?

All horses that are owned by you are insured on the condition that they are used purely for recreational purposes and there is no business use/money exchanging hands.

You as a rider would be better off ensuring that all horses are insured for public liability for any rider authorised by the owner, and taking out a personal accident plan for yourself if needed, I know petplan do a rider only insurance.

This is just my understanding though, and I am willing to stand corrected if someone more knowledgeable comes along! Whatever you decide, please read the small print!
