BHS Road Safety Ad on U-tube please circulate link

I think it was in Holland or somewhere that they realised that drivers were only concerned about their cars getting damaged, not the horse or rider, so they did a TV ad campaign warning drivers that their cars could get dented if they weren't careful round horses, and it worked a treat

In NI they show really hard-hitting road safety ads at peak times - some of them are really shocking and upsetting, but they certainly make you think.
 
I don't like that ad I'm afraid have commented on it before, I don't think it shows horse riders in a good light at all ie road hoggers that cannot control their horses.

They should have added a what should have happened bit on the end, ie driver should have stayed bit further back and riders should have pulled in to the huge available driveway on the right or trotted on to the next available passing point IMO.
 
I agree-I feel riders are rude--should have been single file and trotting away from blind corner but I do agree with R it is targetted at drivers not horse riders and the message being pass wide and slow or half a ton of horse could land on your bonnet.
 
I have seen that ad on tv, usually at some silly time in the early hours when I can't sleep. I realise that it is trying to show that cars can get damaged but agree that it doesn't show riders in a good light at all

I think the drivers out yesterday evening should watch this. was out hacking, a boy-racer came down the road (a straight road, no corners) going way to fast, van coming in other direction had stopped for me to pass, and boy racer obviously couldnt get past, slammed his breaks on and stopped literally a couple of inches away from monty's hind legs
