Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on these two exams' Care sections. I've got my 2 Care but I've not had enough bum-in-saddle time to be anywhere near ready to do the ridden sections.

So this year while I'm still ride training, being one of clever ideas, I thought I'd do my 3 & 4 Care. I've the Stage 3 book that I'm working through but as there's no Stage 4 book - and I know there's no substitute for hands-on but there's no pro yards in my area, nor is there a BHS approved Where-to-train facility within a five hour drive of me so I'll be practising on my own horses and dragging up the information gained on my Equine Business Management degree for the theory.

Anything of help will be hugely appreciated!

I was in a similar situation when I did mine so I joined the local pony club and riding club and through these I discovered that Carole Broad FBHS actually did some freelance teaching in the locality on a monthly basis so I used to have lessons with her. Being a Chief Examiner as well, she gave me loads of great exam tips. I then did my riding 10 years later! Perhaps you could contact your local BHS development officer to see if there are any BHSIs or FBHS's that teach in your area on a freelance basis. Good luck!
