I am booking in to do my stage 1 next month. I am only doing care as I dont jump so seems pointless doing riding if I am not doing stage 2 riding.
Now because I am not riding what is acceptable wear for the exam? Is it still jods and competition jacket?
Also any advice?
Thanks!

You can wear a neat pair of cord trousers (like the vets often wear) but NOT jeans, instead of Jods if you choose. These would be paired up with jod boots.

Top half definately needs a shirt and tie, either with a jacket (preferably tweed) or with a tidy V neck jumper (raid the school uniform sections) in black or navy blue.

Note - the careers section is now active again so if you have any more questions, you might be more likely to find an answer in there!

I took my 1 in March this year and wore a navy v-neck jumper with a shirt and tie for my stage 1. I got the jumper from gap and the tie was a £1 from a charity shop! As I was doing the riding section as well I had jobs and boots but yes ruth83 is correct you can wear a tidy pair of trousers instead for the care.

It was still pretty cold out so when we did the oral and practical parts we were allowed to wear anoraks/jackets.
The dress code for the exam is on the bhs website. Also, you don't jump in your stage 1 ridden section.

Good luck!

As long as you look smart and tidy you'll be fine. There was a lady in my stage 2 care who was wearing track suit bottoms, a t shirt and scruffy dirty jodh boots! I wondered to myself whether she'd pass. :o
