BHS Trustee Elections?

Who voted in the trustee elections over the past couple of months?

Does anyone know when the new trustees will be announced?

I know the BHS comes on this board so I'd like to add my thoughts on the process. It was really difficult to get a sense of what the candidates stood for in such a short formulaic space. I felt a video clip would have been more useful, say 2 mins per candidate? Anyone else have any thoughts?

I did, I don't think it's like a political election, each candidate is bound to have similar views they all want to promote horse welfare, I voted for the ones I am most familiar with.

Yes, I'm sure whoever gets in they will do a good job! I guess I found myself in the unusual position of not being sure who to vote for - I normally pick pretty quickly but it took me over an hour to figure this one out!

Part of the recent changes to what has now become the BHS constitution has made provision for longer candidate statements - this was voted on in the recent EGM and as such could not be brought in for the last election.

As Ruth says, longer candidate statements can now be provided for future elections but the suggestion of video is interesting and we'll take this on board. Hopefully developments in this area will help you decide faster in future, Foxford - we can only say it must have been the calibre of candidates that made for such a tricky decision!

The new Trustees will soon be getting out and about with staff to see for themselves what each team does on the ground / at a grassroots level, and all are very much looking forward to getting started in their new roles.
