Bib clip - will he need a rug?

I'm going to give my boy a bib clip asap as we have started serious schooling and he is already getting mega sweaty. Have decided to go with a bib clip to begin with as this will be his first clip ever and thought i'd introduce the sensation of being cold slowly to him

He is currently turned out during the day and in at night. Will he need a rug?

If its the horsey in your photos then no he wont need a rug, unless he is a total jessy

I would personally, not really because of the cold, but if you have a wet horse you won't be able to ride, and a rug means that parts of your horse will remain clean - I'd ust put a summer turnout on him.

Winston was a bit chunkier than hte horse in your sig and he was out with a chaser clip, he only had a rug on in all that snow.

I've bib clipped natives in the past to try and stop them putting on weight in the winter - these were living out 24/7 with just hay. Rugging wouldn't have helped!

If he's the chunky lad in your sig and it's only a bib clip he should be fine without

If you worried you could put a hood on him, he may look weird but it an idea x
