Given the fuss that was made by owners and riders about both Badminton and Burghley being cancelled it is disappointing that there are only 34 entries so far for this event. Entries close at noon today so I doubt there are going to be many more.

thread in C&T is tracking entries... seems there have been 10 so far this morning then so perhaps they will continue to trickle in.

There were over 98 entries for the Hartpury 4*, 86 for the 3* and 70 for the 2*. I can't help thinking the entries will rack up pretty quickly for Bicton.

Not so sure - Cornbury OI has the better entries, both numbers and 'quality' wise, eg Classic Moet (assume aiming for Pau?) and as of 1pm today, it's now a late entry fee.

37 entries only so not a huge competition. As teapot has said Cornbury OI had better entries 109! Ballot was at Noon today so I guess there might be a dribble of late entries if some eligible horses get balloted. The Prices have made a token 1 entry each for Bicton but have 9 between them for Cornbury not all are 5* horses but at least 4 are. The Prices were fairly loud about there being no 5* UK event.

So the long list for Europeans has been released
https://www.britisheventing.com/new...ntries-for-fei-eventing-european-championship
Of that long list 8 horses are entered for Cornbury OI, 1 for Cornbury 3*, 3 are entered for Bicton 5* others are entered for Blair 4*.
Cornbury has not as yet balloted it is massively oversubscribed. According to BE website they are yet to choose which classes are to be balloted. The selectors will want their long listed people to get the runs they want but as a result how many other competitors will get balloted perhaps unfairly??

Extremely interesting despite entries having been closed prior to the ballot date as the event was massively oversubscribed there are now 121 entries for the OI class up from 109 on the ballot date of Noon 17th August 2021. Six days later at 20.48hrs the class acceptances have not been published.
