So tomorrow i have committed to clipping two horses , i have got to pick my old mare up and another one of my mares that is out on loan is back tomorrow too!
You might have seen the 2 posts about my mares out on loan. So to give you an update. I text the lady with Rosie the pony she wanted to pts and she rang me up and shouted at me saying didnt i listen to anything she said to me and that rosie could stay there as long as possible. She just wanted everything in place so if she did go down she could have her pts straight away. but in the next breath she is saying she wants to have her put to sleep now while she is happy!!!
She also said the vet came to see her (first time in a year) and said how well she looks for her age. She then had a go and said non of my expert friends saw her struggling last year (my expert friends being my vet, NAF person, Allan and page guy, feed merchant ppl, very close and very knowledgeable friends down the farm!)
I said i have compared her to old ponies i know and she isnt half as bad, she didnt want me to move her and upset her, she didnt want me to turn her out - im not btw she is in a flat field access into an undercover yard joint on to a barn with stables made up so she can go in and out as she pleases. So anyway in the end i grew some balls and said i wanted her back so when the decision had to be made i could make it myself, so she is coming back tomorrow and i have been to get her all her feed and a pink sparkly head collar and pink buckets and haynets...its like im reliving my childhood, im so excited!
Update on Phebs, voicemail left the other week to say she didnt want her anymore and wanted to send her back, its like she has had her fun with her over the holidays and now she doesnt want her. Got the physio coming next week to sort her as the loaner hasnt sorted this. Its been a real pain trying to pin her down to a time for tomorrow and she managed to text me late tonight to tell me. Just got to try and squeeze all this in now. I have got to get two beds done at 2 different yards plus exercise two horses and i may clip phebs if she isnt too stressed plus the clipping of the other 2 and picking rose up!!!
You can call me wonder woman if i get everything done tomorrow that i have planned!!!

Good luck!

. Well done on getting your neds back when they need you

. I don't know the second person's situation: I have known of sharers who suddenly stop sharing when the dark nights start drawing in, so maybe it is the same with some loaners.

Good luck with it all!

I hope you've got yourself a nice treat ready for the evening. You are going to need it.
It sounds like the right thing to bring the pony home. I wonder if the loaner may have had a scare about something & wanted to make sure that in an emergency she wasn't having to get hold of you in a hurry - not everybody is good at communicating stuff they find stressful or upsetting. My 27yo has had me thinking he was at death's door twice this summer & been right as rain an hour or so later. On one occasion he went down in the field with apparently very severe colic at 6am & was giving the impression that he would die before the Vet even got there. When the Vet left we decided that if he wasn't up by 2pm (this was before 8am) I'd call the Vet back & he would be PTS - he must have heard as he was up & demanding mints an hour later!

Good luck with that

So this is how it went!
Gave up with the clipping idea for the morning and set to work on the 2 stables at different yards.
Went to Rosies first and just dropped feed off as there was a boat in one stable and a sit on lawn mower in the other!!! dont ask lol! Then went to do Phebs stable and set off to pick rosie up at 12. Got there and the lady was really nice today, gave me half a box of bute, feed and even pears lol. we were in and out of there in 25 mins. She went on the box ok so i didnt need to worry about the ramp really. Got her to my friends and she went trotting off to see feathers and the hit each other with their bus passes and then started grazing lol
Next we ran in home and got some food then shot to the other stables and phebs was there within 10 mins. She came off the box like a donkey, was proper knocked out. There was no sign of droppings though. My plan was to leave her in the stable and exercise 2 other horses and clip even though it was 3.30 by this point!
So put her in the stable and she started mooching around, eating hay, lip curling, kicking her bed up. Then i started to worry. She had had some sedalin but was really dopey and just not her. She started to look like she was going to get down so i got her out and took her over the field and she was stuffing her face. I then decided to let her off and she carried on grazing but started to look like she was going to get down again, she rolled and lay flat out and groaned, my stomach flipped! It was like dayjarvoo. I got her up and she carried on grazing and i just kept her in hand and she didnt make an attempt to get down. 4.40 came and i had to nip my sister home for work so stuck phebs in the stable and shot off. got back and she was fine, then within 10 mins she looked like she wanted to get down again so i got her out and we went back across the field. I was there until 7 in that time i was texting the loaner to see how much sedalin she had given her -6mg, at 7 i found out she hadnt fed her in the morning and had given her the sedalin on an empty stomach! no wonder she was so knocked out! i fed her in her stable and went to feed our other one and went back to her and could smell poo! hooray!!! 7.30 it landed! i was so worried.
I then went to sort rosie and i am finally home watching x factor and just about to open a bottle of red!!!
