Big bale hay feeder

I use the traditional tombstone ones . The horses don’t care if it’s been rained on , it’s all gone within a week .
I’d be a bit worried about hooves /legs getting stuck in those holes .

Thank you both - I asked a friend to source a feeder for me as she is in a buying group and this was one of the options. I wasn't too keen for the reasons I had stated and you have both added other things that would worry me so I will look for other options!

I'm not sure how common these are in the UK but they're used widely here in Ireland, including myself, and I absolutely love them! Lightweight that I can move on my own(but, thankfully, has never blown away in stormy west of Ireland weather!) and never had an issue with the horses fighting/getting injured etc. and there's barely any wastage. Onto my 3rd year of using one and contemplating buying a second.

It is easy to get over a round bale and is it possible to move a round bale by rolling , please

Hello all,

Has anyone used one of these feeders? https://www.solwayrecycling.co.uk/shop/sheep-lambing/feeders/monster-hay-feeder

I like the fact that it is covered but not sure how keen my two will be to put their heads in and how easy it will be for them to reach when it gets towards the bottom. I'd also be keen to know how robust they are.

Any thoughts welcomed!
I have the smaller one of these for 2 horses, they have no problem with eating from it, and get right to the bottom, only problem is my mare doesn’t always let my gelding get the hay, they can quickly get their heads out. They are very robust.
