Just thought I'd share an amusing thing with you, and feel free to share your similar experiences.

I needed to move some big bale haylage offsite. Some non horsey/farm people offered to help. I'm small so jumped at this chance.

As we all know you roll big bale haylage and keep it moving until it's where you want it and then shove it about a bit to fit nicely. Apparently non horsey/farm people haven't a clue about this and instead push on 3... And then stop pushing and congratulate themselves on flipping it over once! Such hard work! And then they feel that they khow all about moving it and refusk to listen to the 2 horsey/farm people who wanted it moved in the first place as they are small and female and obviously know nothing!

This meant that bale moving was glacial, frustrating and and generally a bit useless. Hilarious how out of puff they all got though, and how weak they are! 4 people to shove a bale?! Myself and horsey/farm person 2 were doing one between us at the end!

Anyone else have any amusing experiences with non horsey/farm people helping out and 'knowing best' - hilarious or tragic stories accepted! ;)

Not horsey but bale related - I was trying to unroll a round bale of straw in a cattle yard - couldn't work out why it wouldn't roll, until I went the other side, and saw the cow pushing it back the other way with her head.......

LOL.... at your comment spacefaer!!... That reminds me of the time i was bedding cattle down with the large round bale straw,...and EXACTLY the same thing happened to me!! I'm there, shoving away, trying the roll the bale out in the shed and i thought 'flippin' 'erries,...why is this bale so god damn hard to move?'....until i look up and over the bale and there, thinking it was a flippin' game, was a young bullock shoving away on the other side pushing away!!!! LOL
