Big bales of hay/straw - how much??

Does anyone have any idea how many small bales of hay/straw are equivalent to one big round/square bale?

What prices are people, particularly Herefordshire and Worcestershire people, currently paying for big bales of hay and big bales of oat straw?

I now get a big 5ft bale of hay for £25 and small bales of straw for .80p each
Just ordered from a new source and it's being delivered Saturday.

Not in your area either but £25 for big round of hay and £8 for big round of straw or £1 for a small bale of wheat straw and £1.50 for a small bale of barley straw.

I have no experience of Big Bale Straw but you can approximate one Big Bale of Hay to 10/12 Small Bales, depending on the weight of the bale.
How many horses are you feeding?
Some-one I know had 2 horses go down with colic from feeding Big Bale Hay.
It needs to be fed and gone within 2/3 days of opening and not hanging around for days on end.
There is a wonderful hay/straw merchant, who advertises in H&H, based in your area. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name!! Try putting an advert in Hereford Equestrian.
