but now I need a good wipe clean/waterproof dog bed with sides for our big Lurcher. He loves sleeping on his back with his legs in the air and at the moment hes in a big plastic bed but as its rigid he manages to get on his back but then his neck and heads all squished up!! so Im thinking of a softer alternative. Im looking at the Kudos Oval bed, has anyone got one and what do you think?
I need the biggest you can get so am a bit limited. The Kudos does 48", his bed at the mo is 46" arround the top. I tried a Tuffie bed but he wouldnt sleep on it????

Thanks for replying. I bought a Tuffie last year but he wouldnt sleep on it, so I gave it to my friend who looks after Boris when I am at work along with her dogs. Boris then destroyed 2 Tuffies eeeek and had great pleasure unstuffing them, and boy is there a lot of stuffing in them. Its wierd as hes never (touching wood) wrecked or chewed anything in my house.

Sorry that I can't be of any help, there is someone on here that has a very handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback, a while ago she posted a photo of him laying in a very big dog bed. It looked so comfortable I wanted to sleep in it but of course I can't remember her user name.

I have some lovely leather beds, washable on the outside and the wolf hair on the pad can be put in the washing machine, if u have a good size washer or hand washed, as they are reversible, leather on one side and like a fake wolf hair on the other, my rotti gets in them no boter and 2 of my dogs are usually in one at the same time

That little dog of yours Cala just so resemblances my Cornish Rex cat, she simply can't resist a living heating blanket either...

Oh and seeing the mottled-coloured pillows in your dog beds Cala has made me remember that I do have one recommendation about dog beds, if ever possible, always choose the bed with mottled-colours, it is amazing how well many mottled-colours makes dirt go invisible.

Awww Cala your dogs are gorgeous! I want to cuddle them all!

As to the bed thing, we got my Lurcher's bed from a market in Birmingham (or somewhere) - it was quite cheap but it's nice. You can remove the cover to wash it, and it's big enough for both our dogs to share (which was important for us because the little JRT kicks Leah off if the bed isn't big enough for them both to stretch out properly!). So my advice is to keep an eye open next time you're at a market! While we were looking for an affordable new bed for them, we used an old duvet as a stopgap - I think they liked that more than the actual bed we ended up buying!
