Hi Everyone

I am new to posting on H&H - hope I get it right! I have seen old posts asking where you can get big bits and was hoping that things have changed and they are now more available. I have a big, hairy cob who needs a 6.25 or 6.5 bit. I can't find anything online for him. I would like to get him a bit that would stop him leaning - he is already in a French link but this isn't working well.

PS Haven't recently won the lottery :( so something affordable please

Thanks for replying. I did consider this but it says if you use a Waterford then you will need to buy it quarter to half an inch longer than other bits and they only go up to 6.5 so it might be a bit tight for him. Also there seems to be a lot of debate about whether Waterfords are kind or severe. He is inclined to spook so I wouldn't want to put him in anything potentially harsh that would frighten him even more

im so glad to see this post! Lucas has been out of work for 4 weeks because his 6" bit was too small and i couldn't find anything bigger! I've managed to borrow a 6 1/4 snaffle but it isn't for keeps and i can't afford mega bucks! :( so i too will be very greatful and interested if anyone has any suggestions as ideally i need a 6 1/2 :) x

the website is great! although im confused about the waterford, this website says its no more severe than a snaffle, but ride away and shires state that this is a severe bit?! Lukes only just turned 4 so i obviously don't want to stick anything in his mouth thats going to upset him? Is it kind until its needed to do its job i.e if he was to lean on it then it would be more severe to discourage the leaning? any info would be great x
