Help. Due to the new rules I need a body protector but at a size 14 with G cups I'm finding it impossible to find anything which doesn't feel like I'm being squashed and prevents me breathing. I hate wearing them at the best of times and feel like the Michelin man (that gives away my age). I've tried race-safe as they were recommended but almost had a panic attack I felt so restricted! Any ideas?

No help here except to say that I've never found one that comes anywhere near fitting me either. I'm glad I no longer compete in classes that require wearing one.

Does it have to be a body protector? Can you not wear an air jacket? I know they are pricey but you can get them on interest free credit now. I gave up with my body protector cos i couldn't bend down in mine at all (also overly blessed in the boob department) and i love mine, you don't know your wearing one!

Im the same as you OP, size 12-14, with G cup, however i do wear a Racesafe, i find that being able to loosen the laces around the bust, but keep them tighter around my waist helps, did you try playing around with the laces?? I have heard people say that the Kan are a good one to try as theyre made to measure i believe.

As a person with big boobs I found the Areolite to be very comfortable. Overall I ended up riding in my BP all the time because it kept the bloody things still!

I am a 34 F and wear a racesafe and as the poster above a a just the lacing a little to allow for my boobs .
It's comfortable .

My race safe is comfortable :) Maybe even too loose :p I look a bit funny but don't think that can be avoided!

I've got a Dainese Balios 3. I tried the Outlyne that lots of people love but when it was big enough around my chest the waist was massive, it was also very solid and I could barely move my head without it knocking on my hat. I also tried a Racesafe but they said I would need a custom made and I found it quite heavy.

Can you get to a big event and try some on then you should have a lot of choice?

I tried the Dainese recently honestly I thought I would die if I tried to exercise in it , my boobs felt sore they where squished in so tight .

I'm a 32 FF (12-14 unless it has buttons then I'm a 16 or they gape across my bust!) and I have a Airowear Outlyne which are supposed to be designed for the more shapely woman - they come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes (I was delighted to need a long, slim as have never been called long or slim by anyone before!). I'd go somewhere to get it properly fitted as it can make such a difference. I would never have tried this size on as long/slim really wouldn't have entered my head but it refers to the difference between chest and waist which is why it fits me well and only an expert knows that really.

Sometimes it's just a case of getting used to it though. I hate mine for the first few minutes, then I forget I'm wearing it. You might just need to persevere through that horrible stage.

Oh how I wish I was a 14 on top (would match the skirt size then), but alas, I will always have a bigger size up top. I was really surprised to find that the Rodney Powell flextech (I think) was the best fit for me, size 16, was an HH when I got it, (down a cup size now) with the combination of big chest and short back.

Just keep trying until you find the right one. I hated it at first, but have got used to it now and no longer notice when I'm wearing it.

Airowear outlyne for me too (i have similar issues with being generously sized in the boob department). Get one properly fitted they tried a few different combos on me and whilst I can't say I don't notice im wearing it once its warmed up and moulded its pretty comfy. I find it helps keep the boobs in place rather than squashing them!

Hello,

Feel a fraud writing on this thread as I'm definitely not busty, but do work in a shop and customers complaining of the same sort of problems.
We did stock both racesafe and champion along with the USG Flexi-motion - (*has to be the felxi motion not just the flexi). We know only really keep a full stock of the flexi motion as found these far out sold the others.

They are even more broken down than the racesafe and only have a solid panel along the spine, and they really do 'hug' the body of all shapes and sizes, far far comfier than a racesafe.

Would definitely recommend at least finding somewhere to try one on.

Horserules2009 do the USG ones come in a short back version? I tried one of these on recently but the shop only had different sizes and not lengths? They were lovely but too long :(
