I am of the surprise big boob variety. As in, I look like I shouldn’t have big boobs but I do.
they are mostly now tennis balls in socks but if I fold it all into a bra they are large enough to justify a good sports bra.

So, I haven’t actually worn anything other than a low/med “strength?!” (can’t think of the word) sports bra for about 10 years.
I bought a panache sports bra that was fitted to me and eff me I can NOT breathe.

Is it meant to be so tight that you feel a bit panicky? She said it needs to be tight because it will slacken over time but jeysus I can’t keep it on that long! I went to dinner with it on and took it off after the main course ?

No, definitely not. It should be snug on the loosest hook so that you tighten it as it stretches over time.

It could be the band of course (Panache runs pretty snug), the obvious one, but hard to test with most sports bras as the test is to try it on back to front and upside down.

It could be cup size, which would be likely if you found the band wasn't actually too tight, or it could be cup or wire shape. I can't tolerate Panache or Cleo wires, they're much more rigid than many other brands.

it’s definitely the band that is crushing me. It’s TIGHT on the loosest hook but she said this is normal as she fitted it. I’ve not got anything to compare it to as I haven’t worn a proper bra for years. Cup was good.
I’m going to try it on upside down and wrong way and just see if I’m being dramatic but honestly it was tight.
I wore it eventing once which is why I got it and it made me even more ratty and added to my nerves ?

Honestly you can't tell, all of those things can make a bra feel too tight, to that extent. Good that's it's a design you can try the wrong way, and it's not being dramatic, if it's too tight it's too tight, no matter if it's band or cup!

It feels like the band but it could equally be the others, though the wires are the least likely, but they do compound the issue. If you can, try the same band with a larger cup every time, just in case, we're all so used to having "boob hats" rather than a well fitting bra ?

And yep, a painful bra makes me ratty as hell!

if it’s too tight I can’t return it and am I buggery losing weight to fit into it because that would mean removing body parts!

let me know when you are doing your rider bra fittings along with your saddle fitting! X

Not sure I have quite enough experience for that lol, I would.highly recommend the links I posted, they have a FB group too which didn't used to be anywhere near as good as the Reddit sub but might be much better now. Recommend over Boob or Bust on FB which is the other group, for various reasons.

me too I am bless with bigger boobies, and get fed up with them taking evasive action when I am trying to do sitting trot. You can feel the men's eyes looking at your chest.

Is that the link or brand in the picture Hock as you don't post the name in your post of the bras.

My trouble also is having had previous injuries to the left shoulder ( fractured clavicle, shoulder blade and now permanent dislocation of the shoulder) all my bra straps shiver down to my elbow ands it is bl00dy annoying.

I know this will seem ridiculous, I've been there, and half the reddit sub discussions revolve around disbelief, but straps are much more likely to fall down if the band size is too large - the band and straps are designed for a bigger body. Bear in mind that going down a band size without an increase in cup letter (at least one for each band size) will make the whole bra too small, try the band on back to front, or with the cups downwards, to check band tightness on it's own if you think something's too tight, so often it's the cups making the band feel tighter than it really is. My straps have never slipped since ending up in 30FF/32F instead of the 36B I was in for years.
