A lovely thing happened yesterday afternoon. Obviously Alf is irreplaceable, but I was really missing having a horse to call my own. One of my friends was looking for options for one of her horses, who is right up my street - so yesterday, this lovely boy made the trip down from Shropshire to join my little gang for the summer.

Ladies and jellybabies - meet Apollo. He's huge, very sweet, and rather Alf-ish - although (whispers) he has a fair bit more quality than Alf, and less hair!

There is no plan! I am fat and unfit, and he is unfit, so we're just going to mooch around and have some steady fun. I'm looking on him as the horse who helps me decide if I want another one of my own
