Hi, I am having trouble finding riding boots to fit me, my calf is a good 15-16 at the widest part.
Does anyone else have this trouble?
I am on a bit of a budget so cannot afford to spend too much.
Please if you know where I can get some do let me know.
thanks

I had exactly the same problem, my boots are Regent Oakleys, they are a wide fit which is 40cm around the widest part, I think thats about 15 inches, best bit was they weren't too expensive and you could probably pick some up on Ebay.

What do you want them for - general riding or a particular discipline? There are lots of people showing in jod boots and gaiters now - the English Gaiter Company do nice ones.

I've had a couple of pairs of low-mid budget leather boots but none of them were comfortable and I eventually succumbed and bought a pair of Sarm Hippiques - far, far more comfortable than the others.

i have a long pair of regent leather riding boots for sale that might just fit if you can give me till this evening when i get home to check the width to get back to you.

I found that I couldn't get reasonably priced long boots so I went jod boots & gaiters route - I got the galway gaiters and I really like them.

I found a lot of long boots I tried that would fit the calf, were badly shaped and very baggy around the ankle and weren't too flattering - even the saddlery said that though they'd have made more profit on boots than gaiters!!!

Mine fit nicely and are shaped well and have no baggy bits and look fine, though tis my ambition to own some lurvely leather boots once I've removed a few more inches!

I'm the same. Have not worn long boots since I was a nipper and nowadays just wear jod boots and have some gaiters etc.
I agree ebay is a good place to look for them as you can pick up some good deals new and even better secondhand.
I personally have no problem buying secondhand boots and clothes etc but that is me.
Good luck hope you get fixed up
