As the title really, is there a big difference in comfort between the two saddles, I know there is a big price difference? Am looking at getting the 2000 but wonder if its worth spending that much more? Am also going to try them out in a shop, but any thoughts would be nice, thanks

AFAIK it's the tree shape, the 2000 is much less banana shaped than the 500 so would depend on your horse more than yourself. However I think they've changed the tree now so I could be very wrong!.

I had a dressage 500, loved it, very comfy!

I have ridden I both, I far prefer the 2000, although the 500 is not uncomfortable. I actually brought the 2000 years ago for my mare and recently brought a lovely gel panel leather saddle for £700 second hand and barely used. After about a year I realised I had probably only ridden in it a couple of times and still always went for the Wintec so sold it! I find the 2000 a really good GP type saddle, makes the rider really secure, just feels far more useable and comfortable for me, there also seems far more room for your knees when your stirrups are short. This is lucky because at the time I was going to buy a 500 because I wanted a brown saddle and they didn't do that in the 2000, but the 2000 fit my mare better. I would reccomend the 2000 definatley.

I find the 500 impossible to ride in - it doesnt let your leg sit in any sort of decent position - I never ride in mine and cant wait to get rid of it.

I dont know about the 2000 but it cant be any worse!

I personally wouldnt have either! I hate wintecs, they don't fit many horses. Thats a big consideration too because you may like a particular saddle but it doesnt mean it will fit your horse. Probably best to start with which suits the horse better but in my experience its probably neither!

I have a Wintec 2000 and absolutely love it as does anyone who rides my horse, much to their utter amazement! :)
