Riding school where I ride has been closed for 2 weeks to give horses a well earned break. Had first lesson back last night and was expecting horse to be sluggish and "do I really have to..." after the break. I was sooo wrong, he was a little superstar - working nicely in an outline, soft, forward going and off the leg (which is not normal for him). Couldn't stop grinning!
Have told OH I'm going to swap him for lovely horsey (if I can smuggle him out of the riding school)

I'm just hoping he's as good in the dressage comp on Sunday.
Mind you I've got sore legs - 2 weeks of no riding and first lesson back was work with no stirrups! Ouch!

I know how you feel! Had a lesson the weekend before last on my RI's horse and wanted to sneak him into the car afterwards, best ride I'd had on ages. Then I went hacking at a different place on Saturday and absolutely loved the horse I was on - unfortunately my RI's horse was usurped as my fave quite quickly

Riding again tonight and I'm sure my expectations are way too high...
