TB obviously rolled and got tangled up in his rug on Friday - rug round his neck but underneath him if that makes sense. Found he had sliced his off hind about 4 inches above the fetlock on the inside of his leg. Cut about 1 inch long and not very deep. Leg was a bit puffy round wound which we assumed was from where he kicked himself. Wound been kept clean and bandaged until last night and has healed over very nicely. He was never lame on leg and was in great spirits. Took him hunting yesterday with a dressing, gamgee and vet wrap on under boot to keep it clean and he was great all day.
Took leg wraps off today and his off hind was pretty big but no heat or anything. Cut very clean still and not lame or sore on it. His stable is pretty small so he doesn't move about a huge amount in it.
Have turned him out and it seems to be going down as he walks around. Is his leg just up because he's been standing around on it after a day's hunting? I put a dry poultice on cut last night when I got back just in case anything had wormed its way in but was totally clean this morning and looks fantastic.
Am just concerned that I might have missed something major and should be doing something with his big leg other than cold hosing it. All 4 legs do puff up a bit every night after being in but this was quite a lot bigger than usual!!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
