Some of you may have read about our little incident with the flat back truck that reversed straight into me and josie the other day. Well I really didn't think it had bothered me. Josie was such a star. I've ridden her since but only in menage, again, normally what I do.
Today I went out for our normal big long hack with my best friend. Felt fine. Off we went laughing and joking, horses being horses.
I then saw a flat back truck thing, which looked exactly like the one that hit us. Went a bit funny but just carried on. Straight after 3 or 4 loud and fast cars came straight past us, and I lost it. All I can think of was it was a panic attack, but huge! I was sweating crying shaking, it was the noise of the cars that set me off.
We were an hour away from home so pulled myself together and rode on. But every slam of a door and ever close of a car boot, set me off. I was a quivering wreck by the time we got back.
My friend was fab, but I really could quite happily NEVER get on a horse again. Which really isn't like me at all. I adore Josie and she really is the safest thing on 4 legs. but after my antics this morning even she started having little spooks at stuff.
Anyone got any advice how I can nip this in the bud? I cant let this ruin everything again, not after I've just got all my confidence back.
